Two Developer Training courses were offered at BlackBerry DevCon Americas on Monday, October 17 to help attendees learn about how to develop for the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ Tablet OS. There are two training courses available that cover development with Adobe® Flex & Adobe® AIR® and BlackBerry® WebWorks™.
Develop for the BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Using Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR
Course Description
This one-day course is designed for experienced Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR developers who wish to leverage their existing skills to create applications for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. You will gain hands-on experience in developing for the BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS by creating your own code and implementing various features of a sample application.
You are encouraged to go beyond the course exercises and explore the framework as much as possible. Any remaining time at the end of the day will be dedicated to answering deeper questions regarding the Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR framework and best practices, and allowing you additional experimentation time with the platform and tools.
Each unit in the course will consist of the instructor introducing a topic, followed by hands-on walkthroughs in which you will create and compile code on your own system. Where appropriate, you will be prompted to experiment beyond the formal walkthrough and to raise any additional questions you may have.
