1.Registration Terms And Conditions
The BlackBerry Developer Conference (the "Conference") is hosted by Research In
Motion Corporation ("RIM"). By registering for the Conference you agree to be bound
by these terms and conditions.

Conference program and event schedules are subject to change.
2.Substitutions, Cancellation and Refund Policies
Registration Substitutions and Changes: Registration substitutions and changes to
registration can be made up until 11:59pm EST on October 11, 2011, which
is five (5) business days prior to the start of the Conference. Substitutions for
individuals registered to attend the Conference and/or any associated ancillary
event (each, an "Event", collectively, the "Events") must be made
in writing and sent to the Registrar, as provided in section 10(C) below, by e-mail
at DEVCONreg@blackberryconferences.net
no later than 11:59pm EST on October 11, 2011.
Registrants of Conference and/or any Events and Companion Pass holders (collectively,
"Registrants") cannot "share" a Conference pass.
Registration Cancellations and No-Shows: Cancellations must be made in writing
and sent to the Registrar by e-mail no later than 11:59pm EST on September 30, 2011
to receive a refund of the applicable portion of the fee. All Conference cancellations
made on or before 11:59pm EST on September 30, 2011, are subject to a cancellation
fee of $100.00 USD. There will be no refunds for cancellations received after 11:59pm
EST on September 30, 2011. Registrants who have not cancelled on or before
11:59pm EST on September 30, 2011 will be liable for the full applicable
registration fee, and must pay any outstanding balance within thirty (30) days of
date of invoice.
No Shows : Pre-registered Registrants who do not notify the Registrar by
phone or email that they will not attend the Conference and do not cancel their
registration by 11:59pm EST on September 30, 2011 will be liable for the
full registration fee and will not receive a refund for amounts already paid.
Refund policy only applies to registration fees. Cancellation of travel reservations
and hotel reservations is the exclusive responsibility of the registrant. RIM and/or
Registrar will not be held responsible for any cancellation fees or surcharges,
including hotel cancellation fees, for Registrants who have made their own travel
arrangements (either with or without the assistance of Registrar).
In case of transmission difficulties or other technical problems related to registration
or emailed written notification to the Registrar, please call Registration Services

DEVCONreg@blackberryconferences.net to notify the Registrar.
The RIM server or designated timekeeper shall be the official timekeeper for the
purposes of determining the timing of any registration or notification.
3.Conference Fees and Deadlines
To attend the Conference and/or Events, payment in full must be received by Registrar
within 30 days of your registration date. If payment is not received within 30 days
of your registration date your registration will be considered incomplete. RIM reserves
the right to review and cancel your registration if payment is not received in full
in accordance with these terms and conditions.
If payment in full is not received before arrival onsite, the balance of any and
all outstanding monies must be paid onsite at the Assisted Registration area before
entry to the Conference and/or Events will be permitted.
Passes:
(A)DevCon Americas Conference Full Pass:
The DevCon Americas Conference Full Pass rate is $949.00 USD ("Onsite Conference
Fee").
DevCon Americas Conference Full Pass Holders (each, a “Full Conference Registrant”,
or “Registrant”) are entitled to participate in the following:
- Access to the BlackBerry General Session, Breakout Sessions and Expert areas
- Admission to the BlackBerry DevCon Party
- Admission to the Mobility Pavilion during open hours
- Breakfast, breaks and lunch Tuesday — Thursday
- Complimentary access to Conference Wi-Fi® internet
- Access to BlackBerry DevCon On-Demand,
the online portal for conference content, until the start of the 2012 conference
- Registration gift upon check-in onsite
Full Conference Pass Discounts & Rates:
- Early Bird Discount : Full Conference Registrants, including
Alumni-rate Full Conference Registrants, who register for the Conference by 11:59pm
EST on August 26, 2011 are eligible to receive a $250.00 USD Early Bird
discount off the Onsite Conference Fee.
- Regular Rate Discount: Full Conference Registrants, including
Alumni-rate Full Conference Registrants, who register for the Conference between
12:00am EST on August 26, 2011 and 11:59 am PST on October 17, 2011, are
eligible to receive a Special Rate discount of $100.00 USD off the Onsite Conference
Fee.
Note: The Early Bird discounts will be forfeited if payment in full or an official
purchase order document are is not received by Registrar within 30 days of registration
or by 11:59pm EST on October 11, 2011 whichever dates comes first.
(B)DevCon Americas Academic Pass:
The DevCon Americas Academic Pass Rates:
Student Conference Pass: The fee for a Student Conference Pass is
$199.00 USD. To be eligible for a Student Conference Pass a registrant must be enrolled
full time at a post secondary institution and at least 18 years of age.
Faculty Conference Pass: The fee for a Faculty Conference Pass is
$399.00 USD. To be eligible for a Faculty Conference Pass a registrant must be a
full time faculty member at an accredited post secondary institution in a relevant
program.
Academic passes do not qualify for the Early Bird discount/offer or any additional
discounts.
Students and Faculty must apply to
DEVCONreg@blackberryconferences.net with proof of current enrollment or
employment which includes current program schedule and/or academic letter from the
school and a copy of the school identification card or proof of current employment.
Admittance to the conference as a Student Conference Pass or Faculty Conference
Pass holder is subject to the sole discretion of the BlackBerry Developer Conference
organizers. Approved Students and Faculty will receive notification via email and
given a registration code.
Student Conference Pass holders (each, a "Student Registrant") and Faculty
Conference Pass holders (each, a "Faculty Registrant") (Student Participants
and Faculty Participants, collectively "Academic Pass Registrants") are entitled
to participate in the following:
- Access to the General Session, Breakout Sessions and Expert areas
- Admission to the DevCon Party
- Admission to the Mobility Pavilion during open hours
- Breakfast, breaks and lunch Tuesday — Thursday
- Complimentary access to Conference Wi-Fi® internet
- Access to BlackBerry DevCon On Demand, the online portal for conference content,
until the start of the 2012 conference
- Registration gift upon check-in onsite
To gain admittance onsite as a Student Registrant or Faculty Registrant, fees must
be paid in full and copies of all three supporting documents must be provided to
the registration staff at the conference to receive the conference badge.
- Government issued photo identification
- Current school ID card
- Proof of current enrollment or employment
(C)DevCon Americas Tuesday Pass:
The DevCon Americas Tuesday Pass rate is $99.00 USD, and may be purchased during the online registration process prior to the start of the conference.
DevCon Americas Tuesday Pass holders (each, a "Tuesday Pass Registrant") are entitled to participate in the following on October 18, 2011 only:
- Access to the BlackBerry DevCon Americas General Session
- Admission to Expert areas during open hours
- Admission to the BlackBerry DevCon Americas Party
- Admission to the Mobility Pavilion during open hours
- Lunch and breaks
- Complimentary access to Conference Wi-Fi® internet
- Access to BlackBerry DevCon On-Demand, the online portal for conference content and sponsor information, until the start of the 2012 conference
4.Add-On Packages
(A)Companion Pass:
The Companion Pass rate is $199.00 USD.
A companion pass can only be purchased by Full Conference Registrants during the
registration process or at the Conference. Please note that companions are not permitted
to attend Conference keynotes, sessions, or labs. Companion Passes are limited to
one Companion Pass per Full Conference Registrant. Companions must be 18 years old
or older.
The Companion Pass includes access to the following during the Conference:
- Welcome Reception in the Mobility Pavilion (Tuesday evening)
- BlackBerry DevCon Party
- Breakfast, Breaks and lunch (Tuesday—Thursday)
- Access to Wi-Fi internet in the conference center
(B)BlackBerry Developer Training Passes:
The BlackBerry Developer Training Pass fee is $499.00 USD per course.
Course #1-DevCon Americas: Training Course - PlayBook Development Using Adobe® Flex
and AIR®
Course #2- DevCon Americas: Training Course - PlayBook Development Using WebWorks
BlackBerry Training Passes are available only to Full Conference Registrants, and
Tuesday Pass Registrants, and may be purchased either during the registration process
or at the Conference, subject to availability. Each course takes place on Monday
October 17, 2011 from 9:00am-5:00pm. Breaks and lunch are included in the training
pass fee.
Additional Add-On Packages Terms:
Registration add-on packages are fully refundable subject to the following conditions:
- Refunds for add-on packages will be available only to Registrants whose registration
is canceled prior to 11:59pm EST on September 30, 2011.
- "No-Shows" (Registrants who do not attend but do not cancel their registrations
in accordance with the provisions of section a. above) are not entitled to refunds
for add-ons.
- Refunds will not be given if the add-on package has been opened or accessed.
5.Discount Programs
(A)Hotel Bundle — Get 1 night free at the San Francisco
Marriott Marquis as part of a 4 night reservation with purchase of a Regular Conference
Pass (available only to Regular Conference Registrants) ("Hotel Bundle").
The Hotel Bundle requires payment of the Conference registration fee and consists
of four (4) night's accommodation at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis for the
price of three (3) nights. The Hotel Bundle will be available for $932.85 [$310.95
per night (includes 15.5% taxes and fees for 3 nights] at the time of registration
to Regular Conference Registrants. The savings, based on RIM's special room rate
for DevCon, is $310.95 USD, based on the cost of a three-night stay.) The Hotel
Bundle will not be available for complimentary passes or to holders of any conference
pass purchased for under $699.00 — not inclusive of the Alumni discount
This offer requires a minimum stay of four (4) consecutive nights at the San Francisco
Marriott Marquis, on a room and tax basis. Additional nights and incidentals are
the sole responsibility of the Registrant. Upon arrival the Registrant will be required
to provide a credit card to cover any incidental charges.
All substitutions, changes, cancellations and refunds of the Hotel Bundle must be
made in writing and sent to the Registrar, as provided by e-mail at no later than
11:59pm EST on September 9, 2011
(B)Alumni Discount:
All fee-paying registrants of BlackBerry Developer Conference 2010 (San Francisco)
qualify for the alumni discount for DevCon Americas Conference 2011 except for those
registrants who have outstanding registration fees from BlackBerry Developer Conference
2010 (San Francisco). For qualified registrants, the alumni discount of $100.00
USD will be deducted from the current registration price by the registration system.
To be recognized as a Conference alumni, and to be provided with the discount, a
registrant must use the same email address used to register for BlackBerry Developer
Conference 2010 (San Francisco). If registrant's email address has changed, the registrant
can call Registration Services at 1-886-405-2510 (toll free) or +1-650-226-0824
(direct) from 9:00am -9:00pm EST Monday to Friday, or email:
DEVCONreg@blackberryconferences.net to update his/her account and receive the
Alumni Discount. Complimentary passes are not eligible for the alumni
discount.
6.Other DevCon Americas Terms And Conditions
Program Events and Presentations:
(A) RIM reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to make changes
to the Conference program. Every effort will be made to keep presentations and speakers
as represented. However, unforeseen circumstances may result in the substitution
of presentation topic(s) or speaker(s).
(B) In the event that the Conference has to be cancelled or changed
due to events beyond RIM's control, RIM will not be held liable to Registrants for
any damages, losses or costs incurred, including but not limited to transportation
and accommodation costs. RIM is not liable for changes in program date, content,
speakers or venue.
7.Participation
(A) RIM reserves the right to restrict participation in the Conference
and all associated ancillary events at its sole discretion.
(B) Registrants must have reached the age of majority in their respective
state, province or territory of residence in order to register for the Conference.
(C) For registrants who are public officials or employees of a government
department, ministry, agency or government-owned enterprise, you agree that your
participation in the Conference is for legitimate business purposes related to the
activities of your employer or the government department, ministry, agency or government-owned
enterprise that you represent, and that you have not been requested by any person
and have not offered to provide any business advantage or other benefit for or on
behalf of RIM as a condition of your participation in the Conference. It is expected
that you will attend plenary sessions, break-out sessions and other conference events
in order to benefit from the curriculum and the opportunity to learn about RIM and
its wireless products and solutions.
8.Release From Liability
(A) By attending the Conference, you agree to release and hold RIM,
its subsidiaries, affiliates, agents and representatives and each of their officers,
directors, agents, representatives and employees (each a "Released Party" and collectively,
"Released Parties"), harmless from any and all liability, losses or damages whatsoever
for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind, except bodily injury or death to
the extent caused by a Released Party, arising from participation in or in connection
with the Conference.
(B) By agreeing to these Registration Conditions, you release and discharge RIM
and its service providers and their respective and their respective parent companies,
affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, agents, representatives, and employees
from any and all liability, losses or damages resulting from: (i) late, lost, delayed,
stolen, misdirected, incomplete, unreadable, inaccurate, garbled or unintelligible
communications or affidavits, regardless of the method of transmission; (ii) telephone
system, telephone or computer hardware, software or other technical or computer
malfunctions, lost connections, disconnections, delays or transmission errors; (iii)
data corruption, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of registration
data; and (iv) any printing, typographical, administrative or technological errors
in any materials associated with the Conference; or (v) any liability for damage
to any computer system resulting from participating in, or accessing or downloading
information in connection with this Conference.
9.Consent To Use Of Personal Information
RIM collects personal information during the registration process such as name,
mailing address, email address and credit card or other payment information in order
to collect registration fees and produce entrance badges for Registrants and otherwise
administer registration, participation and access to the Conference event(s). Independent
of RIM's collection of such information, Registrants attending the Conference may
wish to have exhibitors "scan" their entrance badges at the exhibitors' booth to
collect their personal information such as name, address, phone number and email.
By completing and submitting the information requested on the Conference Event Registration
form to RIM and/or its affiliated companies, you consent to the collection, use,
and disclosure of the information by RIM or its service providers on RIM's behalf:
(i) to administer registration, participation and access to the Conference event(s);
(ii) to contact you after the event(s) for event evaluation purposes and for subsequent
event notifications and registrations; (iii) for RIM's internal use, including without
limitation, to: (a) understand and meet your needs and preferences, (b) develop
new and enhance existing services and product offerings, and (c) manage and develop
RIM's business and operations; and (iv) RIM's Privacy Policy which can be found at http://www.blackberry.com/legal/privacy.shtml. Except
as set out herein, RIM will not disclose your personal information for marketing
or other secondary purposes, although RIM may disclose aggregated, non-identifying
data relating to the event for marketing or other purposes.
Registrants may access the Portal at www.blackberrydevcon.com. By requesting information
from third party vendors and sponsors through the Portal, Registrants consent to
use of their personal information for the purpose of "follow-up" contact by sponsors,
including but not limited to direct mail, phone calls or email messages. Once a Registrant's
badge is scanned and/or Registrant provides information to third parties through
the Portal, RIM does not have control over what the exhibitor may do with his/her
personal information. RIM encourages Registrants to check with individual vendors
and exhibitors regarding their specific privacy policies and purposes for collecting
Registrants' information when their badge is scanned at a booth. Any decision by
Registrant to share personal information with any vendor/exhibitor is the sole responsibility
of the Registrant. RIM is not responsible for information provided by Registrants
to vendors and/or exhibitors at any Conference Event or through the Portal nor is
RIM liable for anything done by vendors and/or exhibitors with such information.
10.General
(A)RIM may film, photograph or audio record portions of the Conference,
including lectures and interactions in common areas. These recordings may be archived
and used for educational and commercial purposes. By attending, Registrant consents
to RIM's global and perpetual use of his or her name, photograph, recorded voice
and statements (“Information”) in whole or in part, in all media and/or distribution
formats, now known and hereafter developed for any lawful purpose, including but
not limited to marketing, advertising, publicity, educational, sales, trade, and
promotional purposes, with no right of approval and no right to compensation. Registrant
releases and discharges RIM from and against any and all claims, damages, costs
and/or other liability arising from or relating to use of the Information. RIM shall
be the exclusive owner of any and all rights, title and interest, including, without
limitation, copyright, electronic and distribution rights, in and to any materials
containing the Information created by or on behalf of RIM, in any form.
(B)Please be aware that any information you provide to RIM before,
during or after the Conference, in whatever form, is public non-confidential information.
You further agree that the information you provide will not be used to establish
any notice of patent infringement or related damage enhancements.
(C)RIM reserves the right in its sole discretion to amend these Registration
Terms & Conditions to remedy administrative, including without limitation, typographical
errors.

(F)This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the laws
of the State of New York and the laws of the United States of America applicable
therein. Each Party hereto irrevocably waives any objection on the grounds of venue,
forum non-conveniens or any similar grounds and irrevocably consents to service
of process by mail or in any other manner permitted by applicable law and consents
to the jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of New York. The Parties
further hereby waive any right to a trial by jury with respect to any lawsuit or
judicial proceeding arising or relating to this Agreement.

related trademarks, names and logos are the property of Research In Motion Limited
and are registered and/or used in the U.S. and countries around the world. Wi-Fi
is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance. All other brands, product names, company names,
trademarks, and service marks are the properties of their respective owners.
