Web Developers at BlackBerry DevCon Asia
Mobile web development was a big focus at this year's BlackBerry DevCon Asia — the launch of the BlackBerry® WebWorks™ HTML5 platform is a powerful development approach that makes it easy to reach a community of over 70 million subscribers!
Here are five reasons why web developers attended the conference:
- It's easy to reuse your existing content and assets. Sessions at the conference this year focused on the ease and simplicity of using the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK to extend your web apps to mobile devices. There were many sessions that taught HTML5 developers how to develop, test and package up web applications for the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet and BlackBerry smartphones.
- Developers tried the tools and shortcuts first hand. BlackBerry is opening its web technologies such as BlackBerry WebWorks HTML5, BlackBerry WebKit, AliceJS and Ripple on GitHub to make better apps, faster.
- Turn a profit with your apps. BlackBerry App World™ and various commercialization services like the BlackBerry Payment Service, BlackBerry Advertising Service and BBM™ SDKs are driving revenue for mobile web developers.
- Developers got a look at where mobile web is heading. Developers learned about the future of mobile web apps and how frameworks such as the BlackBerry WebWorks HTML5 platform are positioned to help.
- Attendees learned from another’s success. Enterprises are making it easier for their staff to work while mobile without taking on cumbersome development projects. Attendees took away ideas from successful development projects and web industry leaders.
- Attendees got a head start on development for the BlackBerry® 10 Platform. The BlackBerry 10 platform will support apps built with the BlackBerry WebWorks SDK, so developers had the chance to get ahead of the game by learning more about BlackBerry WebWorks and HTML5 development.
